This is a difficult question. I actually had to think about it for a few days. I'm not sure if I'm just craving them right now but I'd have to say Sarawak pummelo. To me it just has a unique taste that stands out from many other citrus I've sampled. Runners up are: Kishu, Cocktail grapefruit, and Golden grapefruit. A lot of people love Dekopon/Shiranui/Sumo. I like it a lot also but it's a little too much in your face with its intense flavor for my taste buds to be my favorite.

On the other end of the spectrum is poncirus trifoliate mifaivomitare

Bouladou, The question was "What is your favorite citrus variety". The question was not --- What is your favoriate eight citrus varieties. Boulado, with the very different types you list from what normally most people would mentioned, I'm interested in knowing what your actual favorite variety is? - Millet

You're right I should have put Millet one answer. If I "had to keep one it would yuzu! But the question should specify the reasons for the choice: Hardiness, the aesthetics of the tree and fruit? the taste of the fruit nature? the taste of fruit jam and cooking? If it was the taste of fruit nature I would have preferred a tangerine.

Bouladou, you have made jam out of Yuzu? Did you use the pulp, juice and the peel as in a marmalade ? Or just the juice as in a jelly? Whatever, it sounds very interesting. I would be interested in tasting such a product. The sugar would have added the needed sweetness. Interesting indeed. - Millet

Yes everything is used to jam Yuzu. But it is especially the peel which concentrates all essential oils. Wink

Search for "Yuzu Marmalade" on Amazon...

That does sound pretty nice.....might get weak and order.

Ponkan is my favorite, it is the best tasting fruit in my yard and it peels sooo easy. Taste wise, my second would be Daisy and it is close to #1,--but it has lots of problems. I have not had Xie Shan at it's prime.
