For centuries in Japan, citrus peels have been added to hot bath water both for their relaxing aromatic effects and to provide a body warming sensation after bathing. It is now understood that hesperidin, which belongs to a class of natural substances known as bioflavanoids, is an active component of citrus peel and is responsible for the body warming sensation after bathing by stimulating circulation to the skin. - Millet |

Fascinating, Millet. I think I'm going to actually try this. I wonder how much citrus peel needs to be added to the bath water? I got back in the gym after a two week hiatus, and everything hurts right now. So I was thinking of a nice hot bath and finishing up a great book, "Fall of Giants" this evening. Will put some citrus peel in the water, too. If not anything else, it sure will smell good _________________ Patty S.

Hmm.... wonder if I could substitute the Etrog I have? Was going to save the seeds, but trying to find a use for the Etrog, besides just sitting in the fruit bowl looking pretty _________________ Patty S.

Hah, true, Marc. Maybe 6 to 7 citrus in the bath. My husband will think I've lost my marbles. _________________ Patty S.

A bit off-topic, but do you have any pictures of your etrog citrons? _________________ - Marc
