You can still stick with traditional approach and use a mechanical mousetrap? I guess your dogs won't be so curious this time. |

It's funny you posted this. I've been trying to catch a rat in my greenhouse now for about a week. The sob ate some of my trifoliate and dug up my pecans planted in tree pots. He either trips the traps or steals the bait every night and I haven't got him yet. |

Rat poison worked quickly and effectively when a rat decided to inhabit our shade with soil bags and potted plants...
Good luck with your battle! |

I don't think it's ethical to put up pictures of mice that you've killed. |

Serious? I didn't see a smiley by that comment.
Well... I guess I should have considered the fact that there are people here from all over the world with different ethical values. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone. I went back and edited the post. |

The property bordering mine has never been gardened for years. There are citrus trees that are never harvested, rampant passion fruit, hundreds of wild canna plants and a large population of rats.
So far this last 3 months I have spent $45 on rat poison to save my winter squash. Now that they have been harvested I find that they are still being eaten. The local cats get their share but this is a war we seem to be losing.
The landlord of the house is away overseas and unavailable. |
