Hi , does anyone have some seed to spare from a variegated form of citrus tree.

I need them for variegated leaves (well if just by mistake will make some fruits someday will be even better Smile )

Thanks

Seed from a variegated citrus rarely, if ever, produces variegated seedlings. Seedlings are either all green or albino. Albino seedlings die.

I have read somewhere (here ?) that variegated citrus do not roots easily.
Can anyone clarify that?
If so, you should graft that.

As far as I know, variegated Citrus cannot live on it´s own roots like Ficus Benjamina variegated for instace.

They need to get grafted.

Variegated Citrus happen as a budsport, not from seeds.
Variegated seeds are VERY rare and either die or get green later .. both happened to me already ... Sad

Not true, my Sungold lemon is a rooted cutting & over 6 ft tall. I root them all the time as well as the variegated citron I have.

Several breaders told me that about the variegated ...
They said they always graft them as quick as afraid they would turn green again or die .. and that all they rooted died ...
