Last April I planted 30 or 40 Fox Gloves from seed. I did not realize that Fox Gloves are biennials, therefore they wont bloom until their second year of growth. Since, I had already germinated the seeds, and the plants had grown to fill out a 4" pot, I went ahead and planted most of them into a raised flower bed, awaiting next year for flowers. I left a dozen of them in the greenhouse, and transplanted them into 3-gallon containers. Today I noticed that one of the greenhouse plants, which is currently only 4 months old, is sending up a flower spike. This flower spike would be 20 months premature. I was, of course, stunned. I have never heard of a biannual plant flowering at 4 months old. - Millet (596-)
