This is a little report on the taste of my Flying Dragon x ?. Though I did not measure it, I would say the fruit was about 2 1/2" in diameter. The tree only had 3 fruits. I sent one to Keith in NC and kept two. A friend of mine (Earl) and I ate one of the others.

The fruit was dead ripe when I picked it. The one we ate had no seed, but I believe Keith said his had two. Though sour, the fruit did not have as much trifoliate taste, or gumminess, as I have seen in other citranges (I assume this is a citrange). It was sour, but not as sour as a lemon and had somewhat of an orange taste. I have to admit, it was nothing you would want to include in a fruit basket for your boss, but was not as bad as I thought it might be, given other descriptions I have read. Bonnie mentioned that the taste was better when the fruit was very ripe, so that may account for the taste. Keith seemed to have the same opinion of the fruit. Wish I had tried it when it was a little less ripe.

Bonnie and Mr. Texas, does this appear to be the same as the fruit from your "Dragonlime"?

Mr. Texas, I am not sure that is the same fruit. Do you know who discovered the Dragon Lime?

Bonnie Childers discovered it. George McAfee of Houston calls it dragon lime. I believe Bonnie calls it edible flying dragon.
You can tell by the tree growing habit. The tree has exaggerated thorns and contorted trunk, much exaggerated than flying dragon.

To set the record straight, I have always called this a hybrid FD. It is better if used still green but even then not too good. The original plant was at Treesearch farm in Houston. I was budding trees for them and this one was different.
