Hi Patrice,

Welcome to the citrus forum!

Those are unique kind of flowers. Probably these are lemon type of citrus. What is the official name of this citrus?

Thanks Patrice.

Was curious at the folded umbrella like dark olive green bud to the lower left.

It is a type of citron. Lemons are believed to have come from citron.

Regards,

Joe

Buddha's hand. Very aromatic. Let me see if I can link it inline.

Beautiful picture, BRAVO!!

The cluster of the citrus medica (digitata) flowers do have this violet ton, as well the etrog( cedro diamante i corsico) and the trenj (from Yemen, it has no juice vesicules at all, only albado).
Patrice,
Do your citrus buddah hand have seeds and what is its form when mature?

de bon chemin, welcome to the forum!
Those are pics of the citron when mature. They don't have seeds - from what I recall. There is no edible fruit inside. The rinds are used usually for candying.

Great, thank you.

Just a few more details:
are the 'fingers' long, straight, separated from the base or palm of the buddah hand? If so the chinese, tibetan, japanese (shinto/buddist) will tell you that you may have the reincarnation of the Buddah gracious hand growing in your garden... that it is taken as a revered consideration from the Buddah and his followers.

So the monk-gardeners in extrem asia have a lot of technics (hints) in order to grow a beautiful form :- choice of hybrid, nitrogen supply after floraison, water spraying on the fruit bud, etc...( I don't know what process is use for what purpose.. and I don't think they know either, "mistake and empirism are parents of progress")
The fruit can be sold at great price to persons that want to make a offrand to a Buddist temple.
My interest is : what could be the parameters that will modify, mutate the fruit to a special form ( using the same mother tree)?
If you have a citrus medica digitata, could you recall the position of your better fruits on the tree (cardinal situation), the watering or any handling that play a role in the looking of it...
thank you
Yehu
Beaujolais (vers jus de saison) is fresh and funny, to enjoy with a friend.

The fruit is often sliced and placed in rooms for fragrance.

Buddingman, you are correct. They do produce an abundance of fragrance. The fruit really does not have much of a commerical importance. More of a curiosity than anything else. I grow them, but normally just throw them away after they mature. - Millet

Thanks for sharing.
I'd LOVE to see the fruits on that variegated Flying Dragon you have Laughing
