My name is Dan. Im from the Big Island of Hawaii. Just getting into citrus. Raised in southern cal. Lookin to graft some great navels form Wiamea on the north side of the island to some rootstock purchased on the east side where we have 1 acre of property Also a amateur astronomer and diver.

Just out of curiosity, how is the selection of citrus plants in Hawaii? I know they try to keep non-native plants and other species out of the islands.

Thanks for the welcome. Sorry havent been back since first post. Been Busy putting up a new warehouse on the property to work out of. All our trees are inspected inbound by the FDA and customs dept for insects. We have a list of approved plants only for import.

We export quite a bit of orchids and flowers here especially on the Big Island where I live.

I have only Washington navels and unnamed grafting stock from my old house on the north side of the Island.

My name is Jim. I'm from Idaho. I became interesed in raising citus trees in containers about two or three years ago and started reading several citrus related forums and many other citrus related web sites since that time. In May 2008 I purchased four trees from Four Winds growers and, thanks to many people here and on other forums and web sites that have taught me so much, they are doing reasonably well (so far). I have a Meyer Lemon, a Trovita Orange, an Owari Satsuma, and a Bearss Lime. I learned about this forum from one of you on another citrus forum about two months ago. I don't have much to contribute since I am so new but I am grateful for all of the information you have all shared here and on your individual citrus web sites. I think I have been to most of them over the past couple of years and I enjoy them very much.

Hello all. I am but a wee sprout in the world of growing anything. I recently became addicted to planting citrus seeds. I live in Kansas City Missouri. I recently made my first trip to California where my father in law lives. He has a full grown grapefruit tree that he Planted from seed about 30 years ago. I planted 4 seeds from the fruit of his tree. They all sprouted about a month ago. I also have a sprout from a clementine that was store bought and today planted a Moro blood orange seed. It seems I have the fever. I realize that they will most likely never fruit as they will all be indoor container plants but I will enjoy them anyway. I hope to purchase a selection of dwarf citrus from a grower somewhere so that I can have home grown fruit soon. Thanks for all of your insight thus far I look forward to continuing this addiction. My wife says I need help.

I'm Pete in England, I'm new to the site and the proud owner of four 3-year old citrus: Bears Lime, Eureka Lemon, Navelina Orange and a Tangerine. They will be growing outside in pots in summer and over-wintering in a frost-free garden room. I look forward to chatting with you all and sharing the good news and the bad about their citrus production!

From the begining I'll ask apologize for my poor english!
My name is Karoly from Hungary and I start growing citruses from 4 years ago. My citrus collection is not so big, just few lemon's, Clementine, orange's and lime's.
I was very happy to find this forum where we can share our experience and can learn lot of things in growing citrus. I'm reading you from few months ago but I didn't have enough courage to register until now.
