Well, now that Spring is at least teasing us here in Charleston and I can start pulling some of my plants and such out of my Greenhouse. I have been able to make a few observations.
First off, it REALLY sucks to try and pull big honkin plants OUT of a greenhouse with just one hand. For those of you that didn't know, I broke my right hand just over a month ago and they had to put two plates in. It is healing, but I can barely pick up a full coffee cup with it right now.
Second, being that my greenhouse was kind of.....shall I say packed to the gills! I was unable to really keep up with my bug spraying...the hand didn't help either. My poor Ponkan not only had Aphids, it had scale, mealies AND leaf Minors!! It took me the better part of two hours and a gallon of Malathion to get rid of (hopefully) most of the buggies on my plants. The aphids were probably the worst I have EVER had!
Third, weeds tend to enjoy the Winter in a Greenhouse.
Fourth, ants ALSO seem to enjoy Winter in the Greenhouse. They seem to be in just about Every plant I pick up.
And finally, Fifth....I love gardening!!
