I tried to find out the problem with my lemon tree in the forum but it seems that it is different that's why I wanted to post my own issue.

I bought the 2-3 year old tree 2 months ago, and planted it in its new pot.
The tree was doing really great: a lot of new leaves and even new lemons.
The new leaves are really different from the old ones they are bigger and more soft than the ones when I bought the tree.

But now the leaves show these dots and fall every day at an alarming rate.

Please help me.

I'm sure you'll get your answer from the pros here. I however, want to make a guess in advance that the issue is either soil/water issue or a deficiency.

We'll see how far off I am!

Hello. At least I can give you some possible answers to your questions.

1.In the first picture I can tell you have spider mites. They can do nasty things to citrus trees. Look on the back of the leaves and search for almost microscopic bugs or for their webs. Try and keep the humidity as hi as possible. I'm 99% sure about this.

Did you sprayed with something? Some types of oils do that to citrus (foliar luster oils etc).

2.Your tree is giving signs off over watering (big time!!) Try and let the top inch or two of the soil to get dry.

3. I can see you have the window open and a bunch of trees outside. Are they healthy? "Stuff" can travel easily with the wind to your lemon tree.

Spider mite damage (resembles your leaves):

Actually, I don't see much of anything wrong with your tree. The yellowing leaves near the bottom of the tree look to be just older leaves, that the tree is discarding. Your tree was purchased as a 2-3 year old tree, and the life span of a citrus leaf is about 2-years, than is dropped. When a leaf cannot pull it weight supplying the tree with the proper amount of photosynthesis, it becomes history, and is dropped, as there is no welfare program for citrus leaves. All new leaves on the tree are always lighter green, softer, and grow to be either the same size or a little larger than the rest of the foliage. New leaves are always more transparent than older mature leaves. The new leaves will harden off in a couple months. As to the leaf with the yellowish spots, I am not sure what that is, but if it is just on one or two leaves, I would not worry much about it at this time. It could just be a watering issue. Anyway keep an eye on it. All in all your tree looks to be a nice tree. Welcome to the forum. - Millet (1,197-)

thank you for all your responses.
that's great.

I think the over watering is probably the issue.

regarding the bugs I haven't had the chance to look at it carefully but I'll check this weekend.

thanks again
