Jackfruit. I've never eaten one before. YouTube had videos on how to eat it. Watching them was important.
It was tasty. It is sweet with a little sour. It has a Mellon like taste, but a firm texture.

I just ate one of those a couple of weeks ago. Good stuff if they are not picked too early. It's a good thing you used gloves to process that fruit. The latex can be a bear to deal with. I kind of found out the hard way. The kids loved it which was a relief when you got about 10 pounds of it to eat. I hear that you can cook/roast the seeds and eat them too but I did not try.

You're right it is good. But you're more noble than I. I ate it all. Youtube said that you could roast the seeds. Maybe next time. It was a new for me and I had enough to do deciding what parts to eat. I did plant a few seed.

Nice tasty fruit, I planted the seeds 2 years ago and they grew like weeds till winter came along and finished them off (temps below 10C). Very cold sensitive. You would need a large greenhouse with a very tall roof space, which was heated above 20C all year round to grow this one. (Same goes for mangoes which I tried last year and also died under similar conditions).

Would be cool to grow these, they are the largest tree borne fruit. I think the record is 80lbs for a single fruit Shocked
