Well, I am just thrilled! I never imagined I could do this, but out of my first five attempts, all but the very first one have taken.... thanks to the advice I've received here. Now, when can I expect fruit? Will these buds become limbs in time to bloom next spring?
I'm in the tropics on the west coast of Mexico.
Thanks again!
Camille

You may get fruit this yr--if you budded mature budwood onto a mature tree. However, if you allow that fruit to set and develop, you may have reduced growth on that graft. One of my first buds set 3 grapefruit the first yr--I let them develop because I had 2 sucessful grafts of that variety. That one only grew about 6 inches--the other grew about 2 ft.
