Ok, I know I have read the answer to this some place but suffering from sensory overload so sorry to have to make someone repeat. I have a small orange tree and just now off the top of my head cannot remember the technical name, long story short, it has not grown a lot since I got it earlier this year, except for a small growth spurt that the squirrels I have been battling snapped off. Well now I have noticed at the base of the tree some new growth, right down at ground level. The tree looks good, can this new growth remain or should I remove it. HELP!

Is it a grafted tree? Is the sprout below the graft? If so the sprout should be removed.
