Gardner Dragon, while the tree is commonly called "Temple Orange" it is in fact not an orange at all, but a Tangor. Tangors, as I'm sure you already know, are a cross between a Tangerine (Mandarin) and a Sweet Orange, therefore the time from germination to bloom is somewhat shorter than sweet oranges. Second, my "Temple Orange" was grown in a warm greenhouse, where the night temperature throughout the winter is maintained at minimum to 60F. In "reality" this tree is growing under somewhat tropical conditions, therefore receives 12 months of growth per year, instead of the normal six months, which cuts the time of maturity in half. - Millet
