I unintentionally induced some stress blooms (maybe one or two) on a 1 yr old kumquat seedling by poor watering practices early last year. This year it has shown no interest in blooming but is growing well. Yours may or may not be stress related since key limes are relatively quick to come into bearing. Hopefully this is the beginning your key lime harvests!

Citrus seedlings sometimes bloom early for no apparent reason. I have had several different varieties bloom in the 2nd year, and I have seen posts where others have had similar experiences.

Hey Gar. I have three Key limes I grew from seed. All three started to produce fruit the second year. This is their third year & are loaded up with fruit again.
