has any one used this kind of method?

grafting using a pencil sharpner called Veritas Plugger

There was a post on it a yr or 2 ago-- I think the opinion was it will work, but not that good. Far better results with methods like T-budding and bark grafting.

That's an interesting concept. I like creative things that are out of the norm. My questions are:
1) I wonder if you can see the cambium layers well enough to make sure they align properly?
2) Is the pencil sharpener and plugger sharp enough to not shred the cambium layers or leave rough edges?
3) Will the wax or wound dressing hold the scion well enough from backing out with a strong gust of wind?
