How old, and how large is your G. Nugget. If the tree is a mature tree, just let the fruit grow. - Millet (4-05-)

The fruit of a citrus tree draws all of its energy from only the 3 or 4 closest leaves. The rest of the leaves puts their energy into the growth of the tree. If your trees has a lot of small fruits they can use much of the trees energy, witch will slow the growth of the tree. However, even on very small young citrus trees, Purdue University's literature states that leaving one fruit will not retard any of the tree's growth. Therefore, even on your smallest trees you can safely keep one fruit, and still obtain all of the tree's expected growth. - Millet (404-)

My Owari Satsuma Mandarin has done this the last few Autums. It will do a normal bloom and growth flush in the Spring but will have fruit that will be mature a couple of months before they normally would extending the harvest season. My tree ~10 years old and is 4.5' Tall X 6' Wide. It has hundreds of fruit and is very healthy.

Here in central Florida most of the Navels are, or will soon be in full bloom. Some Mandarins and Lemons also. Anyone have any idea why this late fall bloom?
