I bought this dwarf calamondin in April, 2011. At first it was growing fine. It's been spending the summers outside. Last summer I noticed that the new growth is much paler than usual (more like lettuce), and compared to the other calamondin I have it was too light as well, even though they both grow in the same substrate and receive the same amounts of fertilizer.
It is being overwintered now in a room, where the temperature is between 13-19 degrees celsius and it's an east facing window. It's been losing many leaves quickly. Much faster compared to the other calamondin. And some of the falling leaves turn brown as you can see in the below picture.
Every winter my plants suffer from spider mite infestations, so I spray my plants with neemazal and abamectine.
I've washed the pot with 20l of pure water without fertilizers to rinse out all the salts built ups, as it's a 4l pot.
I believe it is grafted on a Meyer lemon.
This spring I'm planning to give it a good pruning and cut some of the roots as well to pot it back into the same pot, because I simply do not have the space.
The plant now and few brown leaves:
The same plant in the end of summer 2012:
Both calamondins side by side to show the difference in foliage color (left is the "sick" one):
What could this be? Maybe the rootstock is failing?
