I have some citrusplants and i have always diffelculty how much water i should give...For example, i am going on a holiday for 11 days. Can they make it without water for that period? Before i go, i will give them lots of water....
Will they make it?I know they have more problems with too much water than too little? But how long, in general, can citrus plants with out water?

Hi flapmeister. If you will be away for 11 days with no one to water your plants, I would move them to shade & water well before you leave. They should be fine.

It all depends how large the trees are and the amount of soil in the container. I would ask a friend to water your trees while you are away. Otherwise, if you have a cool basement I would put them there. And hope for the best. - Millet

cheap slow waterer:
if its not too hot (it spills in about 1 day with direct sunlight)

Take a 1L soda bottle, and poke (best done with a small heated nail) a small hole in the bottom. Fill the bottle and put the lid on loosely. it drips out slowly and will water over a day or 3. Obviously not great for citrus to keep them wet all the time, but it might be worth a try if you cant get someone to visit.
