I collected some seeds from my favourite tree off the farm. I would love it in the garden. no other lemon makes my recpes as well. i win cooking comps with these!!!!

i really dont dont anything at all about citrus, so i need help with the basics to grow from seed. i live in the bayside area. I have read about rubbing the seed with sandpaper or boiling it for an hour. which is the best way for citrus? thanks for the help.

You don't have to do anything but wash it off and plant it in a moist not wet media and put it in a warm place (about 85F). You should not let it dry out. You can carefully remove the seed coat--that will speed the sprouting. It will take 7-10 years to get fruit, unless you graft it with a piece of the mature tree from the farm--then you can get fruit in 4-5 years.
