Proposition 8 has been branded heavily as discriminatory, likened to racial discrimination, and based only on this premise, it will be rejected by Californians who were fooled into believing that it is based on discrimination. We needed to solidly define what marriage is. When proposition 8 is rejected by Californians, marriage will no longer be between a man and a woman. It could now mean any type of non-discriminatory union such as:
man and man
gay and gay
woman and woman
man and 12 women
12 men and a gay man
2 men and a donkey
man and monkey
12 women and a dog
Citrus hobbyists and 256 cultivars of citruses.
etc...
Thus we can have all sorts of union, polygamists would be easily legalized through our non-discriminatory definition of marriage. I can see why most politicians of California support a No campaign on proposition 8. With infinite combinations to boot, these more types of marriage revenues to balance California's budget deficit! |

Hey Joe,
How was Proposition 8 marketed up in your neck of the woods? I've seen very few "No on 8" signs down here and the street corners are filled with people supporting Prop 8. In the newspaper though, it looked like it raised a lot of money in San Diego, but hardly any in LA or San Fransicko. It's just hard to believe with so much support down here that it's opposed elsewhere, but I think San Diego lives in it's own little world compared to the rest of the State.

We were surrounded by No Posters in our neighborhood.
I'm thinking of going into immigration business in case Prop 8 is rejected. Imagine, I can sign up American male citizens to marry a male foreigner, and they can live together in the same house for required number of years. It is an instant immigration passport, more rapid than some other legal means. It would be about $10,000 per immigration processing.
With usual male and female marriage, it has been more complicated because you force them to live together. But now, with male to male or female to female marriages, instant immigration can be had, more conveniently and no malice involved.
Immigration lawyers would be making a killing, the floodgate loophole via gay or lesbain marriage would be open to all. So, if you can't beat them, might as well take advantage of them.
No, I'm not in the immigration business nor want to fleece some people out, but mind you, many will take advantage of this new immigration loophole which is same sex marriage. |

We still have some counting left to do, about 5% more uncounted ballots. But at the current trend, it is Statistically improbable for prop 8 to be rejected!
Whew! At least we can still stay put in California. |

I'm praying that the liberal judges won't find a legal basis to overturn it this time.
Sorry to hear about the abortion proposition in Colorado.
