Is it just me or is this board no longer sending email notifications when new messages are posted? Question

Marc I believe it is a option you turn on or off in your control panel.

May be a bug in the software... I've never used it.

Marc,

I am not receiving any notifications since, at least, that time when the forum was down for a few days. Likewise, I did not change any settings.

I'm in the same boat as GT. I do not receive notifications any longer either but would like to. I also have not changed my settings. Maybe I should change them to 'no' for a few days then back to 'yes' to reset?

As I said, notifications work fine for me.
My settings has 'always show my e-mail address' set to 'Yes'.
I don't know whether this is required for notifications. (I also don't know where the e-mail address is always shown - it certainly doesn't appear on any of my posts).
Note that in addition to the settings, you also need to have the box ticked below where you compose your post. For me this always stays ticked, perhaps it has been cleared for some of you?

I haven't been getting email notifications of message threads or worse, any personal messages in my inbox now for about a year. My settings have never changed. I have heard that it has to do (for me) with having an aol.com email address, but I'm unable to log into the main Forumup.org or Forumup.com site to see if I can get a fix. Keeps telling me that my email address and my ISP have been banned, and there is no email address available for a forum admin to be able to access, to send a help email to. So, stuck with no way to ask for help to get the issue fixed Crying or Very sad Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes

Patty,
It's very easy to get another e-mail address such as, perhaps, hoosierquilt at hotmail.com. If this forum accepts the change, then you could check your new account over the web or even get all emails to this account forwarded to your original AOL address. There are several websites that can do this automatically. See for example http://hotmailforwarder.com/

Maybe I could try using another email address then... I'm now using gmail, but I also have some addresses with my own domain name...

WARNING! DO NOT CHANGE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IF YOU DON'T GET NOTIFICATIONS FROM THE FORUM!!!

I tried it and got locked out because I did not receive the account reactivation email that is automatically sent by the forum when you change your email address!

Luckily the admins can fix this! Very Happy
