Anyone know where, best place, to get sour orange seed in US? I am looking for Flathead Seville. I have heard that this rootstock will produce the best tasting mandarins/clementine.
I understand the weaker resistance to Trisazea than say carizzo.
I am interested in all of your comments on the subject. I have not raised seed before, and I understand I will need to weed out undesirable stock once they germinate.

Five or six years ago, I purchased some of Tree Source's liners during their annual year end sale. At that time 25 trees per order was their minimum order. However, during their year end sale, the order could be made by ordering 1 tree each of 25 different citrus varieties at $7.50 each plus freight. It is a good time to greatly increase the size, and variety, of ones citrus collection. However, I do not much care for the quality of their liners, but for the dollar amount it is a "good" deal. - Millet (739-)

I have tons of sour orange but the variety I don't know. They are already ripening here in south Texas. Let me know if you need some. I just don't know how to store for shipping though.

Easy, dry overnight and dust with fungicide. Store in zip lock bag in refrigerator. They will keep until spring at least.

If you want clean seed we get ours from;

As far as types of sours, we use Seville and it has all its distinctive elements (thorns) I also have about 500 other sours, (Brazilian) very small soft thorns, sizes out good, clean straight stock, easy to bud. All sours, but very clear different characteristic.

Thanks for all of your comments

There is some discussion locally that Seville Sour rootstock produces better eating fruit, in particular, mandarins. Have you heard of this?
