Growing Citrus One More Time

A standard manual for growing citrus in Florida, not coincidently titled "Citrus Growing in Florida," is wrapping up its fifth edition, which should be available this summer. Editor Larry Jackson, a retired citrus extension agent in Auburndale, said he and co-editor Frederick Davies, a horticulture professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville, substantially revised their 1999 edition with in-depth caretaking information on citrus greening and canker and a chapter on the impact of the 2004 and 2005 hurricanes. The editors hope to add at least another star to the fourth edition's three-star rating on amazon.com.
