Hi,
My father brought me 2 small variegated citrus trees. He knows that I am interested in variegated citrus so he got them from a seller as soon as he noticed them.
Unfortunately, the seller had no idea which varieties are these.
I am also having trouble identifying them.
At first sight they look like variegated pink lemon but they have 2 pieced leaves, it has a wide petiole.
Thanks, |

variegated pummelo or variegated grapefruit?
Some C. macroptera (one that Gene Lester have shown me) also have large winged leaf and this could be its variegated version. |

I would go with sour orange. There are a few different variegated sour oranges available in Europe. The sour orange can also have the wing. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

I also would say that the tree's leaf structure is that of a Sour Orange. Should be a vigorous tree even for a variegated tree. - Millet (1,402-) |

Thanks for your opinions
They are very small now, like 5-6 inches.
My father told me that the seller had shaddock trees for sale, all labeled but only these 2 have not labels on.
It may be sour orange but in my opinion stem style is a little bit different than standart sour orange.
I will photograph the whole tree today and add here. |

Looks like sour orange. If you rub a leaf, do you get any bergamot type fragrance? |

Thanks pagnr,
I am not sure if I can categorise the smell as any bergamot type fragrance, but it smells like standart sour orange leaf.
Here is another photo;

Hi Nigel. I don't think it is macrophylla, macrophylla has a lot of long wicked thorns which I don't see on this plant. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Jim seems to feel this variegated tree
is of Shaddock/Pomelo/Pummelo origin.
" Too early to tell for sure at this time
but it does not look like a Bergamot
or a Seville variegate Orange to me -
yet. I remember the wing being more
elongated and slenderized with less
raised lift to the outer edges of the
wing on the Oranges."

We knew Mr. Dan for over 17 years of which the memorial links posted above were in regards to. Topics for discussion in regards to Citrus did present themselves in some of our one on one conversations in the past. It is not like we were "throwing a curve" to anyone in this forum. Dan had some interesting things to say about Citrus.
We are not members of the Ford GT forum but one of us has been looking around in that forum for a while now. My third car that I owned was a Lotus Elite but that does not qualify me to be in their class. Two of us are, however, members of the GreenHybrid forum.
Please do include some more photos of this variegated Citrus. We may have to wait a while for a better idea as to what it may be or is but in the meantime there will be sustained interest in this tree. At least from me there will be as all I want or have a vested interest in is knowing what is it.
