My lemon tree is in a pot. It has new leaves at the top, and a single green lemon on it, which has been growing for just under a year. The new leaves are lighter than the other ones, however, there are very few of the other ones, and I think it may be dead. I think that the tree may either be dead, in too small of a pot, or it's being drained by the lemon. It is not very old. Any help would be widely appreciated, thanks!

If it has green leaves, it is not dead. New leaves are always lighter green to start with, but turn a darker green later if there is proper nutrition.

If it has been a year in the same pot it is probably time to repot. Do not increase the size of the pot more than a couple inches, use a fast draining mix with lots of airspace. You should use a fertilizer with as close to 5-1-3 NPK ratio as you can find and it should have trace minerals or you will have to add them separately--I prefer slow release fertilizers.

How often are you watering?

How old is this tree, and how long as the tree been in the same container, and the same growth medium? Do you fertilizer, and if so how often and with what formula? Has the growth medium sunk lower into the container since you purchased this tree? How often do you water the tree? - Millet
