Well, I am FAR AWAY away from any citrus growing area and my Meyers have been blooming non-stop since the last week in April. They are still blooming - half way through October They seem to like their spot under my front window
The two bushes have been in the ground since 2006 and are about 9' or 3 meters tall. _________________ Gregn, citrus enthusiast. North Vancouver Canada. USDA zone 8. I grow In-ground citrus, Palms and bananas. Also have container citrus |

Well, now that the fruit are ripening it looks like I have about 30-40 fruit that survived the nasty spring wind storm in the lower and inner protected areas. Woo-hoo!
Also an odd late/post season small bloom is coming out during this rainy weekend in late November. I can definitely confirm several smaller sub-blooms after the initial spring bloom this year. Makes sense with some (most?) lemon varieties being in the "ever-blooming" category. Obviously, this varies quite a bit, based on the fact most of the folks on this board have Meyers and their experiences differ greatly.
The tree is a vigorous, shrubby 5'x5' (moderate pruning here and there for form/aesthetics), and trunk is 3-3.5" at base.

Unlike last year where I had dozens and dozens of fruit, this year I had only 12-18. I think it must have been the huge winds we had during last March (of course, it could have been because of http://s1200.photobucket.com/user/pertmanpb/library/January%202013). ... |
Hi Peter,
I am southwest of the metro area in the Star Valley neighborhood, about two miles west of the Casino del Sol on Valencia Rd.
That said, I'll be moving soon to Speedway/Greasewood area and abandoning my current trees and starting new ones . Looks like I'll be getting my fruit from the farmers market for a few years.
Great pics, I like the hat for scale - I also include a common object in my pics when appropriate for scale. It's fun to look back a year or two (or more) later and really appreciate how far a tree has come.
Hope you, your trees and your weather station are enjoying all the rain this weekend...
