Sadly I got word today that James Frances died of a heart attack today. He might not be known much to this forum but he had a citrus collection that rivaled the one John Panzarella has. His suburban Houston backyard had dozens of citrus varieties in it most in the ground. I'd estimate James was around 50. I had known him for several years and recently had visited him every few weeks while I was building a new house in the SW Houston area.

James was actually 65. I've met 3 of his 4 sisters as I've stopped by several times. They want to dispose of the plants ASAP to James friends so they don't have to water so much. I'm retrieving the citrus I had donated to James in the last few months. I'm also attempting to save some of the varieties he has in pots. I've lugged home two back seats full so far. I'll go by a couple more times. I really don't need any more plants myself but I'll find a good home for what I take. I'm sure John Panzarella will have room for some.

Many of his trees are in the ground or in pots too large to move easily.
