Hi , I'm not that good with citrus ID so could you please help ID some citrus trees on one of my friends
My guess is their are mislabeled.

this one have a label of citrus lemon , but looks more like a mandarin , leaves have no citrus like smell. Nothing at all.

this one is claimed to be a Kumwuat (Nagami I guess) and I tend to believe it is

I didn't have a "smell test" on this one , since I tend to believe is a Kumquat

thanks
Daniel

Let me guess Laughing

Both plants leaves resemble to Fortunella leaves. I believe the nr. 1 - eticheta citrus limon is a limequat. Sold as Lemon because of yellow & sour fruits?! Laughing

nr. 2 seems to be F. Margarita, you will know exactly when the trees will start bearing fruits. Wink

Thanks Karol , this was in my thoughts too , not a limequat but a lemonquat

As for number 2 I know that many sell Nagami for a commercial purpose

I have wrote limequat because many nurseries sale Eustis limequat. I didn't see any nursery around to sale lemonquat. I'm looking after lemonquat too but with no succes. Your friend is very lucky if he get a lemonquat! Smile If indeed is a lemonquat then you could send me budwood later! Laughing

May be it worth to try next:
limequat - leaf smells freshly lemon-like when crushed
lemonquat - leaf smells spicy or peppery when crushed
kumquat - leaf smells spicy or peppery when crushed

Last year looking around in one of the nursery here I have seen F. Margarita tree and the tag hanging on it was C. Sinensis! Laughing

Few other stories: Calamondin sold as C. Deliciosa, C. Medica sold as Tahiti lime, C. Aurantium sold as Kucle! Of course none of these trees has fruits! Wink

Of course Karoly if I can ID him , but ...yes there is a BUT , when I crushed some leaves I didn't smell anything , NOTHING at all.

Strangely , I will ask him to give it a try with a leaf from another part of the tree
