Over the past few days I have been having leaf drop. I also noticed fine webbing going from leaf to leaf, but have not seen and spiders. I inspect my tree several times a day (I just love looking at it anyways) and have been removing the webs with a q-tip and spraying it with a ultra fine mist of water. The mister I use only ends up dripping a few water drops onto the soil so I know that it is not getting too much water from my spraying. Today when I went to inspect my tree first thing this morning, it had the most webbing I have had on the tree. Now I asume that this means I have spider mites. I am going to continue to spray and wipe my tree a few times a day. Is there anything else I should be doing? On average how long does it take to get rid of these mites? Just as a note, I am not a chemical person, especially where I have small children, so that would be a last resort type thing to use. Here are a couple of pictures. These pictures I took this morning. It is also ths first time there has been a cluster of webbing at the base of the branches.

You might try adding a couple of drops of a NON-ULTRA,NON-ANTIBACTERIAL liquid hand dishwashing detergent to a quart spray bottle and spraying the trees with this. Spider mites do not like this concotion and will usually move on to a better habitat(hopefully your neighbors)

I agree with the Soap method works well.. But in the land of sand and dust where im at the leaves need wiped down quite a bit when i used that mix ..

Ive also bought resently some Lady bugs ..
might try that are your plants indoors or out doors ?

right now i have mine indoors and tons of lady bugs too i put them in with the jungle room green house and they came in for the bad weather ..

i have 3 praying mantis Egg sacks from the same company..
the link for me local is http://www.marchbiological.com/

there cheap but im sure you can find a closer out let i thats the rout you go .. its just too much dust and sand around here for me to go the spray method ..Tammy
