BATON ROUGE, La. - Louisianas agriculture commissioner says an invasive bug that keeps citrus fruit from ripening, and ultimately kills the tree, has been found in Orleans and Jefferson parishes.
State Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain says state and federal inspectors are trying to determine whether the infestation goes beyond those two parishes.
The insect looks like a tiny cicada and is called the Asian citrus psyllid (SIL-id).
