My Meyer Lemon, which suffered a bit from WLD, seems to be getting happier and is starting to show a number of buds. From the looks of it, many are going to be new branches with leaves but some definitely look like flower buds. I'm not really concerned about it flowering and fruiting right now if I can get some good growth instead (the tree is still fairly small). Should I remove those buds that look like they will become flowers or just let the tree be (and then later remove the little fruitlets)?

Also, I don't see new single leaves appearing where I lost the older ones yet. Does this come later and what does it look like?

You will not see "single" leaves appear. Citrus grow in flushes and you will see a new branch start.

You can remove the flower buds or leave them. The tree will drop whatever it can't support, usually about 97 % of the small fruit.

Thanks Laaz,

I guess if it doesn't sap the tree's energy much, I'll leave the flowers on.

I have a Meyer lemon and Key Lime in a small bathroom with an outside cat door. There are no windows in the 6' x 7' room. I have a heat light for when the temp. outside is below 32F. There are 4, 40 watt vanity lights and 2, 65 watt lights in an overhead fixture. I have one string of christmas lights sorta woven around the two 4 gallon pots and up the sides alittle too. Soil temps. are 68 to 70 ish. Is this enough light for the soil temps? I have been taking the citrus in and out as weather changes but its a little cooler now but I am still able to pick a nice day to water thoroughly every week or even 14 days or so outside. The Meyer has the bath smelling great ! Most blooms don't stick but they both look pretty good for a newbie....Tom
