Is this related at all to Saw Palmetto? But my bottom line question is that if the Sabal Palmetto has the same medicinal properties (prevention of prostate enlargement) as Saw Palmetto.

Different palm, Joe. Sabal palmetto is the state tree of SC and FL (they call it "palmetto" and we call it "cabbage palm." Saw palmetto is a low-growing, creeping, shrubby palm, Serenoa repens. Both are Florida natives.
