Have a question for the forum: I would like the map out my citrus trees, just in case I lose a tree marker or hang tag, so I know where each of my cultivars are planted. What program would you recommend to just create a mapping of my trees? I could try to use Paint, but it seems not quite what I'm looking for I thought about Visio or an equivalant, but maybe I'm just being a bit computer challenged. I walked my front slope and sketched out where things are planted, I I came back just a wee bit shocked at the number and expanse of trees, lol! So, I do really need to get this drawn out. Any program suggestions I can use to get things mapped out and labelled? _________________ Patty S.

Laaz that must be an old satellite picture of your house. I don't see a patio on the back of the house, and some trees are missing. - Millet |

It's the current one on google. You don't see the back deck or any of my back yard because of the neighbors gumball trees in the way. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

ROTFLMAO!!! HAH. Oh my gosh. That's hysterical. Poor gal, does she know she's "famous"?? We have a Google Maps shot of our place we saved when we were cleaning out our garages. Our entire huge 100' plus driveway was filled with crap! Amazingly bad timing. I tried doing that, Laaz, but alas, I am too lame with Photoshop. That is actually exactly what I wanted to do, as it would have put the trees EXACTLY where they are and I could see my lot well. Maybe I'll try to knuckle down and figure it out. That would be the optimal way to do it. I really, really need to do it with over 60 different varieties. I'm starting to rival the Citrus Collection, lol!! _________________ Patty S.

Just draw it on paper and then scan it ... cannot be more easy. |

Not exactly, Sanguinello. This is a huge area with over 60 trees. I wouldn't be able to write that small to squeeze it onto a piece of paper small enough to scan. If it was that easy, I'd have already done that _________________ Patty S.

Divide the area into squares.
Draw the squares, scan and put them together at computer.
Then you can zoom into or out of the map easily. |

Take a picture from google like Laaz said, then put numbers where the trees are and on another paper write what each number is. _________________ Okay, I don't need any more trees. Look! Another tree for sale!!! |

Have you thought about using GPS cordinance. It is easy quink and accurate but like Sylvan said still requires a pen and paper. I am going to try this myself. My only problem would be remembering where I put the paper _________________ Hershell

Thanks, Laaz, exactly what I needed. Really appreciate it! I'll give this a whirl this weekend! Happy Thanksgiving! _________________ Patty S.
