I am trying to find a dwarf Kishu mini mandarin in a #3 or #5 pot via mailorder.
Any help on my Kishu quest would be appreciated.
Thank you and stay warm, Mantis212

More than half of my citrus collections are from budwood orders from UCR. I don't have much place to plant so I graft them unto my existing trees. I just ordered 12 buds of Seedless Kishu. It takes about a year before they bloom on the existing tree at the earliest, a couple of years on the average. If you have a rootstock, it is 2 years earliest and about 3 years on average before they start to bloom. My budwood orders haven't arrived yet, but should come before end of January. If you have satisfied the minimum orders, it costs us about $9.00 per 12 budwoods for Californians. That's potentially 12 plants for $9.00. I usually will use most of the buds by grafting it in several places on a tree. This way, I can change a large portion of my citrus canopy to a different variety.

Budwood shipping is very cheap via USPS priority mail, but when time matters a lot, Fedex standard overnight price of envelope is the maximum shipping.

I think If all else fails, I will try grafting. I just got a leed on a potted one. If he has more I will post! Thank you for the encouragment to try somthing new. Mantis212

Everyone who has one loves them I wonder why they are so hard to find. Little sour fruit is so popular, you can get calmondin plants at the grocery store.

It's full and healthy and has a massive flush of new growth and flower buds. Three open and one a little kishulette! The fragrance is filling my living room. These should absolutley be more poular than calamodins. I love my calamondin don't get me wrong, some of my best fish dinners have been made with these! But, I'm a sweetasaurus and these are grrrrrrreat. Thank you Millet for your kind words and I thank you -All- for the information I have absorbed from this forum... and such. All my plant thank you too.

Wishing you all healthy and happy plants(oh yeah, you to) Laughing , Mantis212
