Very interesting, Ryan. Thanks for sharing. We're all big tea drinkers in my family. I'll make sure to always add lemon from now on out. _________________ Patty S.

Thanx for Info !
In europe no tea is drunk without lemon juice ... it would be like a food without salt and pepper ...
BTW it is very easy to grow a tea plant and have always fresh tea then.
Even in a pot and in a cold climate it is easy. |

yes ... never realized ???
It is tea with lemon ... never tea alone ..
maybe check some restaurants and see what is stated there ...
tea without lemon tastes like nothing and even Ice tea is with lemon or other fruit added ... |

I agree. Tea always comes with lemon, at least here on the Balkans. _________________ i am in love with lemon |

Well I must live outside Europe then...
Tastes happen to differ. Maybe we shouldn't always take our own ideas for the truth...
I prefer black tea with nothing but a little acacia honey in it. Certainly no lemon in my tea! I hate hot lemon juice! Makes my teeth fall out of my mouth!
I also love Earl Grey tea with nothing added to it... _________________ - Marc

Aha ...
A No-Teeth/Hot-Lemonjuice Hate Smurf ...
Maybe we should not care what Smurfs think ...
By the way Earl Grey has Bergamott Oil added ...
So far for as nothing added ... |

Yes, I know that. I meant no milk, lemon or sweetener added... _________________ - Marc

The only tea I drink is Saharian tea. Very strong red tea with much sugar and a branch of mint. Washed to take the bitterness out and then boiled three to seven times.

Our hot tea here in the United States is usually served with a side of a lemon wedge. Iced tea you get asked if you want lemon in it. Some parts of the USA will put milk in their hot tea (I think that's disgusting, but that's how my parents drank it, and they were from Canada.) And, in the southern part of the USA we have something called "sweet tea", which is iced tea that is very sweet. You have to distinguish to the waitress if you're down south, whether you want sweet tea or regular tea. Otherwise, you'll be served sweet tea. I will sometimes have lemon in my hot tea, never with Earl Grey, and always in my iced tea. Sometimes I'll put an orange wedge in my iced tea for variety. Once I get some Bergamot fruits, I'm going to try a Bergamot twist in my hot tea. _________________ Patty S.

Americans do not drink as much tea as Europeans, and certainly not as much as the British.. The average American drinks 0.42 cups of tea a day (10 gallons/year), while the average American drinks 3.1 cups of coffee (70 gallons/year). Of the American tea drinkers, 78% drink black tea, 20% drink green tea, and 2% drink oolong tea. - Millet |

We drink more tea in our family, than the average American family, because my family is from Canada (by way of Scotland & Italy). So, I have two kitchen drawers full of tea varieties I probably have at least 1 cup/glass of tea a day. If I go out to eat, and order a non-alcoholic beverage, it is always iced tea. And always with lemon. _________________ Patty S.
