I am just north of Orlando, FL. We had lows of 22 F. at the end of last December. My first flush occurred at the end of February. It looks like decent fruit is forming on my grapefruit and Orlando Minneolas(2), but nearly zip on my Ponkans(3), Meyer lemons(2) and Honeybell Minneolas(2).

I understand a bit of alternate bearing, but this seems unusual.

And in past years, the first flush has been followed pretty quickly with a second. This year zip so far.

At least there is no leaf miner problem. Laughing

Anyone else having a similar experience?

I also have no fruit on my Pong Koa mandarin, but we had lows of 19 degrees, and around 60 hours below freezing here on the north side of Houston. The trees were relatively protected, but still took some damage.

I'm just happy the trees survived and are growing.

I am in the same boat. I am in central Alabama. I had some citrus in side and some outside with protection, inside too I guess, and I am stil waiting for a flush. Weather has been so strange that I have not used much fertilizer yet. Used Miracle Grow once and have put out some Osmocote that I won . Record setting day yesterday for deaths in one day from storms statewide.

I also have some speckled leaves on some plants that looks like mite damage to me but I do not see any mites.

It is time for me to do water soluable fert. treatment again asap. I have sprayed a pyretherine on the "speckled yellow" plants .

I am at MG intern class and I plan to look at some leaves under microscope this morning.....

I have lots and fruit set this year, but of course am in a very different part of the country (S. California coastal area). Interestingly, my Bearss lime has finally flushed and I now see little bebe sized flowers starting to form. That and my Pixie mandarin were both very slow. Everything else has flushed, flowered and is setting fruit. My grapefruits went a little overboard, so I'm seeing some drop, but that's to be expected with the amount of original fruit set and that they're still young trees. My Meyer is actually going to have more fruit set than the past two years, if that is even possible (I will have Meyers truly coming out my ears this next year). My Eureka, too. We're in "lemon country", so our lemons are always our best producers, right there with Valencia oranges. I'm not sure why my little Bearss lime and Pixie mandarin were so slow to respond. Maybe they're just new and little, and will catch up. Maybe they're just more cold hardy, and naturally slower??

I am seeing a second flush on some of my citrus. Mine were just planted this year though so they aren't really a good indicator.
