citrange,
I may be wrong but I think MS word has an option "save to html" if that would help... No idea how bad those pages would be. I'm using a notepad for editing my web pages as html is a very simple language if you don't need java/flash things (those messing everything up).
Btw, I never had any issues with you pages using win/firefox 7.xx.
Thanks! |

I installed Chromium and everything is OK with it.
So it comes from Firefox. |

Sylvain - can you go back to your Firefox for a moment, and select TOOLS then OPTIONS then ADVANCED. Now select minimum font size to "none", and tick the box to 'allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above'. Exit by pressing OK twice and now try

How does it appear now? |

Same page on my firefox:
I've seen some small issues on some pages but none nearly as bad as the example from Sylvain... _________________ - Marc

Mike I did it and nearly all the pages are OK.
In fact it was in an other place. " autoriser les pages web à utiliser leurs propres polices" was "on" but as I have a high resolution screen I marked "minimum size authorized 16 pixels". I put it at 12 pix and everything is nearly OK, but very small. |

Sorry for hi-jacking this thread - we seem to have left behind the subject of Poncirus.
Glad we have sorted out some of the display problems on HomeCitrusGrowers, but nonetheless I think I will probably change to a new editor which seems to produce better code, is kept up-to-date and is supported with an active user forum. I have downloaded a trial of WYSIWYG7 Web Builder
http://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com and will spend some of our long, dark winter evenings trying to learn how to use it. At first sight, it does appears to be a good replacement for CoolPage, with a slightly similar user interface.

The oldest Poncirus I have found with a recorded planting date is the one in Oxford Botanic Garden, England. Planted 1920, so over 80 years old, but no sign whatever of old-age decline.

Anyone seen an older one?
I don't know whether those trees that grow more slowly in cooler climates like UK also live longer. Perhaps.

I like them because they do reasonably well here west coast of Canada with no intervention from the elements. I have a seedling which was from a Swiss tree (apparently). My tree is getting close to 6' now and bloomed this past spring for the 1st time. I am guessing it is 12 to 14 years old. The thorns are up to 3 1/2" long - more like spikes. I am dreading the day I find a sparrow impaled on one of those thorns. Chickadees sometimes play in and around the bush.
If I had a hedge of them I bet I could keep the neighbours cat out of my yard. ('garden' for Mike _________________ Gregn, citrus enthusiast. North Vancouver Canada. USDA zone 8. I grow In-ground citrus, Palms and bananas. Also have container citrus |

Rubbing alcohol does a nice job of removing the sticky pulp and slime from your hands and fingers. Best to use gloves when removing the seeds from the fruit |
