Before you order a large amount, you might check your local pet store. The larger chain pet stores(pets-mart and others) carry Pure CHC in the reptile bedding section. I purchased 12 dry quarts for $8.

Frank, be sure you keep in mind that CHC's need to be pretreated to remove the soluble salts. The Crystal companies CHC's are pre washed and then pressed by the company a couple of times to reduce the amount of leachable salts contained in their product. The compression process more importantly creates many hundreds of fissures in each chip, which allows their, chips to rehydrate almost instantly. If you use the animal bedding grade be sure to rinse and then soak overnight three times, and after that pretreat overnight with Calcium Nitrate and Epson Salts.

I think Target carries them to. Big bags of the stuff.

Millet, what is the story behind the signature "Sempringham Lincolnshire"?

HI Everyone thanks

What is the correct mixture for citrus? I read somewhere that it was:

3 parts CHC, 1 part Peat moss
with some coarse sand??

thanks !
