I'm glad they showed the picture, so one can be sure it's Diaprepes abbreviatus. There are several weevils that attack citrus (5 in Florida at the moment), and of all of them, this one is normally NOT referred to as "citrus root weevil;" Rather, this one is almost always called "Diaprepes" by citrus growers, occasionally "Apopka weevil," since that's the town they were first found in, in Florida, or less commonly, the official common name, which is sugar cane rootstock weevil.
Of all of them, this one is far and away the worst. Definitely a pest to be reckoned with.
