Hi I have some graftstock that has been in the fridge for about 6 months. Even tho I treated it with alcohol when I stored it it has some white mold growing on it.

Can I just clean it off and use it or do I toss it?

Also have some fresh wash navel stock, do I use the older stock that shows varigation only or can I use the newer green stock?

Thanks
Aloha

Mould on the stored budwood. If it is just at the cut surface or the tip, you may be able to trim those bits off, re sterilize and re pack into fresh clean bags.If it is more than that, it might be difficult to use the budwood without getting mould spores all through your equipment or propagation area.
Not sure about the fresh Navel, are you dealing with a variegated navel orange plant ?

thanks for the reply.
On the old cuttings. The white mold is all over.

on new cuttings , due you have to use the part of the branch that is at least a year old and is kind of brown versus the fresh green stock?
Thanks

On the green stock, make sure you use the flush right before the current flush. Green stock is fine. I have grafted budwood with woody streaks with the same success.

Edit: make sure the budwood is from a good producing tree in good condition
