Has anyone used a hydroponic cloner to root citrus?

I have just made one of the floating tray type, the tray holds the cuttings with the bit below the tray in a tank of bubbling heated water

I used it a few days ago, and rooted a few `normal` plants such as mint and geranium in 2 days i had quite large roots and have potted them, both are easy to root so its not a real test.

Ive put a few citrus cuttings in to it, to see , im just wondering if its a waste of time with citrus.

It seems quite a good idea as it controls the conditions and you can see the roots (if they form!) , i have the tank inside another larger box so the humidity is high on the leaves as well,

the roots are at 86F and i treated the cuttings with rooting gel , i have a tiny amount of hydroponic fertiliser in the water and box has some light getting through, but no direct light on the leaves

Have i missed anything, has anyone tried this, will it work????

Starloc, I'd like to see your setup. Any pictures?

I will take some photos, havent taken any yet,
It seems to be working, on the lemon cuttings, the variegated calamondin is rooting, i left the roots on both as i always do with cuttings, the ones on the calamondin have just fallen off, but i have the start of roots on the calamondin and 1/2 inch long ones on the lemon, im leaving the lemon cuttings in to see how long they can take the waterbath, when they get to 2 inch i will repot them in perlite
