I had my two Sudachi grafts take last week. Both were on Dwarf Yuzu trees. The one graft I had above the rootstock took in 3 weeks. The one below the rootstock took 3 months. I had just about given up on it.

I am assuming the one below took so long to sprout because I didn't force it by breaking the Yuzu and bending it over...

Looks good. Sudachi has a very nice flavor. They are used while still green. Mine were excellent this year. They are harvested late Aug - early Sept. About the size of a Cal.

That's great! Take care not to take out the protective canopy over it yet. You will need those to protect the tender shoots during the winter, even if Sudachi is cold hardy.

And yes, canopy will stay in tact for this "rough" Southern California winter... I really shouldn't say anything as it might jinx us into having another "El Nino"...
