Can a key lime be trained to become a (stereo)typical tree?

Hallo,

I have a one-year old key lime grown from seed. At the moment it is 30cm high with a bifurcation at about 10cm. It looks decidedly bushy; is it possible, or advisable, to prune/train the tree over the long-term so that it eventually becomes a tree with a single tall trunk and bushy head?

Could this be done with other citrus trees, such as Meyer or Four Seasons lemon?

Thanks!
