Grafting fever has struck the Blue Residence!!!
I have grafted everything that I can get my hands on..
Plum to sand hill plum... 5 grafts...
1 Adult sand hill plum to sapling sand hill plum....
Persimmon 6 different varieties to native. and more to do tomorrow..
Hickory to Pecan about half dozen or so.. I had been grafting non stop for 3+ hrs and was loosing track.. it was a last second thing my brother sprung on me while I was there grafting the persimmon..
Pinion pine to white pine..
hmmm.. I think that has about covered all my grafting I've done in the past 2 weeks..
But my problem...... (aside from the obvious addiction) I'm looking at a near empty role of tape.. and I have more grafts to do tomorrow.. WILL IT LAST???

worse yet.. I can't remember where I purchased this roll.. I'm thinking if I keep this up I should just buy in bulk!!! Shocked

LOL Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Happy grafting!!!

I'll see about getting some pics of my grafting tomorrow..

A M Leonard co and Womack Nursery are good sources for grafting tape.

If one day you are stuck without tape, you can use teflon tape, the film you use to protect food or even "scotsh" tape. Indeed you will have to free the buds when they will start to grow.

Thanks Bonnie!! I called Womack.. I will order the tape Friday.. Nice Lady looked up prices for me and let me know what the total price will be so I know how much to load on my pre paid CC.. and she let me know all the info was written down so my call Friday will go smoothly!!! though the links on their web site did not work for me.. Confused Crying or Very sad

Sylvain, I have used other things in a pinch.. in fact I went through just about every thing you can imagine before I got my first roll of grafting tape.. though for a novice like me the grafting takes were not as good with the non grafting tape grafts.. though I did have a few make it..
maybe some day my skills will be good enough I can graft and use bread bag slices like some I know.. Wink
