Hi all,
I just got a new addition to the Citrus Family today. A Limeberry...botanically Triphasia trifolia...All the websites I have looked at states it is in the Rutaceae Family.
Anybody else ever grow one of these? Or at least try one of the fruits?
It looks like it will be fun to grow, even though it is considered invasive in many parts of the world! Rolling Eyes

Darren, where did you purchase the plant? Do you know what temperature it is hardy too? Triphasia trifolia is listed in volume I of "The Citrus Industry." - Millet

I have heard the same, that the plant is invasive & not worth growing. Is there really a use for the fruit ?

Hey Millet,
I actually got it through a trade. I traded a Key Lime seedling and a Shekwasha Seedling for it.
She got it from this site:
http://www.meehansminiatures.com/shop/index.php?action=item&id=99&prevaction=category&previd=1&prevstart=0
It is hardy down to 28 or so. It is classified as a zone 9b plant. For those of us still on the old system. LOL
It is not a real big plant right now and it looks a little pale, maybe from travel, I don't know.
A little TLC and some time in the Greenhouse, I think it will be just fine.

Hey Laaz,
From what I have read, the fruit is edible and the leaves are medicinal.
They say the fruit is actually pretty good, but I don't always believe what I see on the web. That is why I asked here.
