The usual response to this is that the tree will self-manage and drop any fruit it cannot handle, that 90% of flowers don't become mature fruit anyway, and that any maturing fruit only uses energy from the nearest few leaves. So you are probably fine leaving it on its own.

This is a young tree and doesnt have a strong structure yet....If you let this tree set fruits...I cant see it having strong enough branches to support the fruit.
I have grown a dwarf meyer in the ground and the first thing to note about them is they are very optimistic flower makers....greedy to say the least. The best time to thin them out is when fruits are the size of a pea.....thin them to individual fruits...to give them space to grow.
On this occasion....I would however...suggest you dont let any fruit grow....I know this will be very hard to do but you need to build a strong canopy that can support your fruit and you dont have that yet.......A small tree like that will find it a big strain to grow fruit....prune back all fruits when the size of a pea.....you will be rewarded next year...I can tell you that.

According to research by Purdue University, leaving 1 or 2 fruits on a small citrus tree does not harm the tree, and will not retard the growth. Millet

The other day i went to a garden centre and they had this very small dwarf meyor lemon with one enormous lemon hanging over the edge of the pot(was right down the bottom of tree)...was bright yellow and looked pretty impressive.......Its position meant it wasnt putting any strain on the tree.
With the lemon in pic.....I would have thought those branches are not strong enough to support a lemon millet?
I might well consider leaving a few fruits on each of my trees this year then Wink
