I planted a seed of a Page Mandarin:

Seed planted on November 1, 2004
Transplanted into a 3-gallon Root Maker container on February 26, 2005
Transplanted into a 5-gallon Root Builder container on April 12, 2007
First noticed blooms February 12, 2008

From seed to maturity (blooming) 3-Years, 3-months, 11-days. The tree was grown in a warm greenhouse year around, which shortened the maturity time. - Millet

That could well be a new cultivar. Perhaps Bob's Page?

It's fruits would achieve more stable characteristics after about three or more years of fruit production, before it achieves stable characteristics that you can describe reliably. I'm hoping that it would be one of very good new mandarins.

Bonnie, I do not know as I did not keep tract of the flushes. Now that you ask I wish I had kept tract. That would be interesting to know. However, the tree surely would have flushed a very minimum of three times a year. Being in a year around warm greenhouse, the chances are better that it would produce 4 flushes per year. My Marisol Clementine that I post about every now and then produced five flushes every year. For the last three years I did record the number of flushes, and the dates each flush begun for the Marisol Clementine. However, I gave special attention to the Marisol, such as lighting every night, and keeping the soil at 80F constantly for three years, plus fertilizing year around (summer spring and winter). So my guess is that the Page produced between 12 and 16 flushes from seed to bloom. - Millet

While, re-potting over the last couple days, I noticed that I also have a Thomasville Citrangequat and a "Clementine" that I had planted from seed several years back that now have their first blooms. This makes three seed grown trees that have begun to bloom for the first time . I also have another "Clementine" seedling that is very near blooming. During this weeks re-potting I also tossed out 15 citrus trees that I just got tired of taking care of. All were varieties that don't produce good tasting edible fruit, such as Etrogs, Austrailian, BH and similar type of trees.. - Millet

Well, my record holder is a seedling of Citrus limonia "Rangpur" which bloomd after only 20 Month....
Unfortunately I lost that plant, because I forgot to take the pot back indoors, and the night we got a frost of -5°C, so most rootstock seedlings got killed, only six Sour Orange rootstock seedlings survived badly damaged...
But my Citrus depressa "Shekwasha" was planted from seed in 2003, and it bloomed first in 2006, with about 2 up to 3 flowers, no fruit was set.
In 2007 there were about 6 to 10 flowers, again no fruit was set.
And not it blooms again, over 30 flowers have been set and I hope for first fruit....

I don't remember when did I plant the seed, but for sure is about 1 year. I forgot to label it, so I do not know what type of citrus. The seedling has one flower.

Millet,
If you happen to come across a situation like this again, PLEASE let me know. I would GLADLY pay postage for anything that I don't currently have or if I am looking for a second of something.

Tolumnia, yes the BH and Etrogs did produce fruit. Also other varieties like the Australian citrus varieties, but I just got tired of taking care of trees that did not produce editable fruit. I also did as you, in that I would bring the BH & Etrogs in the house for the fragrance. I did not think the fragrance actually lasted that long, nether did my wife. Darren, by the time I got done "cleaning" out my greenhouse, I actually tossed out 45 citrus trees. I kept none, one or two varieties of each type of citrus. This still leaves me with great deal of citrus trees. I want to replace the trees I tossed out with various tropical & exotic fruit varieties. However, with the price of propane this year ($2.12 per gallon) it cost me a little over $6,000.00 to heat my greenhouse through the Colorado winter. If propane goes much higher, I will be forced to make some type of arrangements.

I understand completely, Propane is definetly expensive!. But WOW! I wish I lived closer or knew you were going to do that. You probably got rid of stuff I don't even know I want yet! Laughing Wink
