I planted a calamondin tree a month or so ago, it was purchased in a 5-gal pot. It is a Four Winds "true dwarf" tree that stands about 3' tall with a 2' dia canopy. It is in nonstop bloom, and has set some small fruit. I have been pinching the fruitlets off as they form, but it is getting a little funny at how many blooms this little thing has. Are these things capable of holding fruit at a small size or should I keep pinching fruitlets for the benefit of a stronger tree later?

it does not hurt so much to pinch the calamondin fruitlets, but to pinch my cherimoya flowers brings tears to my eyes. I just have to think of all that fruit in the future.

thanks for you advice,
-Ethan

Cals will produce fruit without a problem. If you want fruit let it go, if you want growth then remove the small fruit.

thanks for the input Laaz,
as much as this thing blooms, I figured it could hold some fruit. Maybe I'll let it keep just a few, keep pinching the rest.
