A large file with lots of good information. The article also includes a write up about Bonnie Childers.

I scanned through until I found the section on Bonnie. Nice article about him. It doesn't say anything about his awesome Meiwa kumquats, though. He sent me some a couple years ago (when I first became interested in citrus trees) and they were out of this world. I have one seedling left from the seeds that I planted from those fruits, and am hoping that it really takes off this summer.

The article on Bonnie was a nice article about a nice man. I am privileged to call Bonnie a friend. Several years back, Bonnie came to my place and held a grafting/budding school with Citrus Joe and myself. Among the citrus trees in my collection, I am growing a BC-1 and a BC-2, both excellent Satsumas. Many of the other varieties of Satsumas that I have I got from Bonnie. For members that don't know Bonnie BC stands for Bonnie Childers. - Millet (1,028-)

I would have loved to be part of that lesson of grafting/budding, but I probably did not even know what grafting/budding was at the time. My very limited grafting experience is on apples, as my few citrus rootstock seedlings are not quite ready for grafting. Or maybe I am not quite confident enough in my abilities yet to risk them! Either way, budwood would then become my problem. Maybe I will take the leap if the two grafts that I made on my apples this weekend take.

Do the BC-1 and BC-2 go by a common name? Satsuma is my next tree, hopefully this spring. If they do have a tag name that I can look out for, I would love to know it.

Barbara, the actual names for the tree are BC-1 and BC-2. They are known by no other name. - Millet (1.028-)

It has been a long week. I do not know how I didn't put that together. Thank you for your patience. Barbara
